Creed

We believe that the authority that gives foundation to what we believe does not reside in any creed or confession of faith, but only and exclusively in the Word of God: The Holy Bible

1 - SCRIPTURES

We believe that the author of the Holy Bible is God and that it was written by divinely inspired men. We believe that its main objective is the salvation of mankind. We believe that its content is the truth without any possibility of error. We believe it reveals the principles that God will apply when he judges us. We believe that the Holy Bible constitutes the supreme norm over the conduct, beliefs and opinions of the human race.

2 - THE TRUE GOD

  • We believe that, according to the Holy Scriptures, there is only one God, living and true, creator of heaven and earth and everything in them, with his own existence, that is, not created. God, according to his own nature, is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. God is love, he is just and he is holy, one God in three different persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, coeternal and equal in divine perfection, but with different tasks in the redemption of humanity, and perfectly united in one being.

GOD THE FATHER: As Father, He reigns with providential care in his universe, in his creatures and in human history, according to the purposes of his grace. God is truly Father of all those who they become his sons through faith in Christ Jesus.

GOD THE SON: Christ is the eternal Son of God. In his incarnation as Jesus of Nazareth he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus fully revealed and fulfilled the will of the Father. He took complete human form, but he never committed sin. He honored the divine law with his personal obedience, and with his death on the cross he provided for the redemption of man. He was raised from the dead with a body glorified and appeared to his disciples as the person who was with them before he was crucified. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God the Father, being the only Mediator between God and men, since he has divine and human nature. Jesus Christ will return with power and glory to finish his redemptive mission and to judge the world; meanwhile he dwells in all believers as Lord and Savior.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired holy men of old to write the scriptures. He trains men to understand the truth, he convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, effects regeneration, and exalts Christ. The Holy Spirit comforts believers and gives them spiritual gifts with which the church is built. He preserves the believer until the day of redemption. His presence in the Christian guarantees that God will lead the believer toward spiritual maturity. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the Church in worship, evangelism, and service.

3 - THE SIN OF MAN

We believe that, according to the Scriptures, man was created in the image and likeness of God whom he must obey. But our first parents (Adam and Eve) sinned by disobeying God, being subjected or exposed to divine judgment. Sin produces the separation between God and man and drags him towards damnation, without him being able to achieve salvation on his own merits, nor by his own works.

4 - THE SALVATION

We believe that, according to the Scriptures, salvation means passing from death to life; that is, to go from being spiritually dead and condemned because of sin, to having life: A new eternal life with CHRIST, first here on earth and then, after physical death, in heavenly places. Salvation presupposes reconciliation with God, and is obtained through sincere repentance and faith (genuine or authentic) in the Lord Jesus Christ and in his redemptive and intercessory work. In its broadest sense, salvation encompasses justification, regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.

JUSTIFICATION: We believe that justification is an act of God and a state of the Christian. The moment the repentant sinner accepts by faith divine grace, which is offered to us in atonement vicarious of Jesus Christ on the cross, he becomes justified, that is, he is declared just before God and freed from his wrath and eternal damnation, which he deserved due to his injustice, receiving in his place the benefits of salvation obtained through Jesus Christ.

REGENERATION: Regeneration is the new birth in Christ Jesus that is produced by the work of the Holy Spirit, and constitutes the beginning of a new life characterized by obedience to the Gospel and the fruits of repentance and faith.

SANTIFICATION: Sanctification is a process that begins with regeneration and ends in glorification. Through sanctification (saints = set apart for God), believers are being perfected by the Holy Spirit following the model of Christ, and are enabled to do the will of God, according to divine purposes

GLORIFICATION: Glorification is the culmination of salvation and the participation in the glory of Christ: an eternal, joyous, final and permanent state of the redeemed in the presence of God.

5 - THE PERSEVERANCE OF TRUE BELIEVERS

We believe that, according to the Scriptures, the redeemed in Christ, that is, those born of the Spirit, will not apostatize from the faith, but will persevere to the end. This distinguishes the real believers of those who superficially make a profession of faith; because authentic Christians are kept by God and nothing and no one can separate them from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

6 - AN EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH

We believe that, according to the Scriptures, the Church was founded by Jesus Christ, who is the head of the Church. That each local church is made up of those who have publicly confessed to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, giving testimony of their faith in Him and manifesting their commitment to their own church through baptism. That the local churches are cared for and directed exclusively by CHRIST through its members, these being trained, according to spiritual gifts, as pastors, teachers, deacons, etc., for the edification of the Body of Christ.
That the administration of each church is the responsibility of each and every one of its members. That the ends of the church are the worship of God, the proclamation of the Gospel, the teaching of the Scriptures, the fellowship of its members, and the service of others.
And that the means available to the churches for the fulfillment of their purposes are both material and spiritual: the materials come mainly from the offerings of the members (tithes and offerings) and the spiritual ones are constituted by the grace of God, the presence of Christ and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

7 - CHRISTIAN BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER

We believe that, according to the Scriptures, the only two ordinances given by Christ to the church are baptism and the Lord's Supper.

THE BAPTISM: We believe that, according to the Scriptures, Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit should only be administered to those who already profess personal and genuine faith in JESUS CHRIST, practicing by immersion in water symbolizing death to the old nature or old life and inner regeneration towards a new life in communion with Christ and with the Church. Baptism is a requirement to participate of the Lord's Supper and of the rights and obligations as a member of the church.

THE LORD'SUPPER: We further believe that, according to the Scriptures, the institution of the Lord's Supper is another ordinance to be practiced by members of the church, after careful examination of conscience and repentance in his case, taking bread and wine after giving thanks to God.
The bread and wine do not impart grace, but rather symbolize or represent the body and blood of CHRIST, given and shed respectively for the remission of the sins of all mankind.
The celebration of the Holy Supper constitutes a testimony of faith, and an act of proclamation of the redeeming death and the glorious resurrection of the LORD until his second coming.

8 - THE DAY OF THE LORD

We believe that, according to the Scriptures, every first day of the week we should gather to worship God, proclaiming and celebrating the resurrection of Christ.

9 - THE ETERNAL JUDGMENT AND DESTINY

We believe that according to the Scriptures, Christ will return to earth in an unexpected and glorious way, followed by a final judgment. We also believe that the LORD will place some at his right hand to enjoy eternal glory in heaven, and others at his left to eternal damnation in hell.
