Worship Style

First Baptist Church of Ayden (NC) is a Traditional Southern Baptist Church. We have a choir, a choir director (Sandy Wade), an organist (Mac Swanson), and a pianist (Janice Butler). The congregation sings traditional hymns. As a member of the congregation you have access to a hymnal to sing with. During the services, at times we use a projector and screen to display hymns' lyrics, Scripture, and pastor's sermon relevant text or pictures. We alternate choir performances with “Special Music” (basically, this is just a solo sang by a member of the choir or an instrumental solo, consisting of something traditional or contemporary). After the sermon, an Invitation is offered to all to come closer to The Lord. (Invitation means: you are being invited either to accept Christ into your heart, to join the church, or in some cases rededication of your life to God and Christ.)



We have chosen to remain with the “Traditional” style of worship because we feel it best reflects the overall tone of our congregation.
